Cheese Cake (Eggless)

It was my brother's birthday and I was out of baking products to make a cake.
So just then my grey cells glowed... I made a beautiful cheese cake instead...
As I always believe and my blog's motto is, there is always an easy way to do things...
So here I am making cheese cake sans baking and eggs... and no gelatin too you read it right!!!

Ingredients:
For crust:
Biscuits     -      15-20 nos. (depends on how thick you like the crust)
Butter       -       1 tbspn

For Filling:
Milk                    -       3 cups
Cornflour             -       2 Tbsp
Sugar                  -        4 Tbsp
Vanilla Essence    -        1 tsp

Method:
For Crust:

  1. Grind the biscuits until it turns to fine powder.
  2. Melt the butter and mix it with the powdered biscuits.
  3. Take a cake mold and spread the mixture. Press it with a masher or your fingers evenly so that it spreads and sits firmly in the mold to form the bottom layer.
  4. Refrigerate it for 10-15 minutes.
For Filling:
  1. Now boil milk in a pan.
  2. Meanwhile mix the cornflour and little bit of milk into a paste without any lumps.
  3. Once the milk is boiled , pour the cornflour mixture into it and keep stirring so that no lumps are formed.
  4. After a while when the milk seems to thicken, add sugar to it and stir well.
  5. The mixture then thickens (like a porridge) and starts to leave the sides of pan.
  6. Let it cool and add vanilla essence to it.
Now take out the mold from the fridge and pour the filling mixture over it evenly. Again set it for 3-4 hrs (approx.) in freezer compartment.

Once the mixture thickens, remove the mold , serve it cold.... :)

Confessions:
  • I have used Marie biscuits and some bourbon biscuits for the crust.
  • It is okay if you do not have a detachable mold. you can always use any flat bottomed vessel, and just need to be extra careful while taking out the set cheese cake. The crust is very fragile u c...:)
  • The time for setting may vary from fridge to fridge so do not panic and let it some more time to set.
  • Top the cheese cake with strawberries or chocolate powder...
